An EFT file is an Electronic Fingerprint Transmission. It is a digital file that contains your fingerprints and demographic information. EFT file formats vary based on the requesting agency.
Ink & Scan Fingerprinting provides ATF compliant EFT File services to individuals who are required to complete Form 1 or Form 4 via ATF's eForms portal.
Have your fingerprints captured at our location and receive your EFT file electronically immediately once the appointment is finished. Once your file is received, you will be able to download the EFT file and save it for future use on any ATF requirement. While completing your application on ATF's eForms portal, you will simply upload the EFT file provided.

Q. Which ATF eforms can I get fingerprinted for?
ATF eForms 1 and eForms 4 allow EFT submissions. Currently, all other forms require fingerprint cards. Your EFT file will be valid ONLY for forms 1 and 4.
Q. What do I do once I receive the EFT file after my fingerprints have been captured?
You will not be able to view the EFT file after you have completed your fingerprint appointment. You will be required to provide the EFT file to your FFL dealer.
After your fingerprint service is completed, you will need to click on the link to download your file. The file will expire after 24 hours and no longer be accessible.
- Do NOT download the file to your cell phone - IT WILL NOT WORK!
- Do NOT open the file. It is encrypted. You will not be able to view the file.
- DO make sure you download your file to a computer that you trust as soon as you access it.
- DO send a copy of the EFT file to your local FFL dealer for upload.
