Fingerprint Cards
Ink & Scan Fingerprinting offers two options in obtaining ink card fingerprinting services.
The first option is the traditional way of taking fingerprints on fingerprint cards using the "ink and roll" method.
We can roll your fingerprints on your own card/document that you bring in, or we can provide FBI (FD-258 or FD-1164) cards for you.
It’s best to ask the requesting party which cards they will accept.
The second option is the process of capturing fingerprints electronically with our advanced Live Scan machine.
With Live Scan fingerprinting, your fingerprints are “rolled” across a glass plate and scanned.
It is faster, cleaner and more accurate than the old ink-and-roll method.
After the fingerprints are scanned, we then print them out on a fingerprint card.
You can bring in your own card or use one of our cards.
This can be used as a no mess solution that also meets requirements of an ink card.
These services are available at our office or a mobile appointment can be scheduled at your location if needed.
Reasons for Ink Card Fingerprinting
Many federal agencies require ink fingerprints for employment applications
or other federal requests.
When applying for a license or background check for a different state other than where you live, ink fingerprints will be required.
Different states require different card formats. We provide ink fingerprinting on any form you may need.
Most foreign countries requesting your fingerprints will ask you to be fingerprinted on a card or form. Be sure to receive your ink fingerprints on the correct form for your needs.
